Publix PurchasesTV FranchisePublix Broadcasting Co., Inc.has purchased the franchize ofthe Hagadone Broadcasting Co., former operators of KCIX, Channel 6 television in Nampa, Vern J. Kloepfer, vice president of Publix announced today.Kloepfer said his corporation will be making an application for a bi-city license to operate out of both Nampa and Boise, and set September as a tentative date for opening broadcasts.The new station, which will have different call letters, will operate out of a studio to be built near Boise. Its transmitter will be moved from the KCIX location near Meridian to Deer Point. A Nampa office will be established.The station will operate between 60 and 70 thousand watts and will be capable oftransmitting color. Kloepfer said negotiations are under way for affiliation with theABC television networkj
