Publix PurchasesTV FranchisePublix Broadcasting Co., Inc.has purchased the franchize ofthe Hagadone Broadcasting Co., former operators of KCIX, Channel 6 television in Nampa, Vern J. Kloepfer, vice president of Publix announced today.Kloepfer said his corporation will be making an application for a bi-city license to operate out of both Nampa and Boise, and set September as a tentative date for opening broadcasts.The new station, which will have different call letters, will operate out of a studio to be built near Boise. Its transmitter will be moved from the KCIX location near Meridian to Deer Point. A Nampa office will be established.The station will operate between 60 and 70 thousand watts and will be capable oftransmitting color.
