other doy.Cheer Up, TV ViewersJust os we hod on ifim in our typewriter Wodnosdoy obout receiving more and moro complaints obout KIVA-TV’s program scheduling, along comos a latter from John R. Catsis, president of Four States Television, Inc., a Texas corporation, which has proposed to purchase the station.Catsis wrote that Federal Communications Commission approval of the intended purchase is expected in about two weeks/* adding that his group hoped to become the owners of record by Feb. 1.And then came the paragraph which should cheer up all KIVA viewers:‘ About a month ofter we do take over, viewers in the Four Cornersarea will see some significantimprovements in ... (the) station. We ore dedicated to improving both programming content and picture reliability and making KiVA-TV an important part of the community/1We especially noted that expression picture reliability”— because the complaints we've been receiving center around the fact that many times when programs which are blocked out on Channel 4 (KOB) because of the FCCs non-duplication clause, viewers will turn to Channel 10 (KIVA on the cable) only to find the show half-way over, or not even on the air. When the latter was the case with one particular program one complainant wanted to watch this week, she said she colled KIVA and was told that the show had been aired an hour earlier than it had been scheduled in either the Times log or TV Guide. And that's darned frustrating.
