M rs. Alice Brooks McGuire, former librarian of the Center for Curriculum at the University of Chicago, will outline opportunities for librarians in the field of young people’s literature at ameeting' of the Library School Club Thursday, January 12. Time and place will be announced.Mrs. McGuire is a member of the Newberv and Caldecott Awards Committee—a national committee for the selection of outstanding works in children's literature. The meeting will be open to interested students and faculty members. It is the second in a series of discussions on fields of library work.Miss Mary Rice of the Austin Public Library will speak on opportunities for employment in public libraries Thursday February 2. in Main Building ,125.Fred Folmer, associate librarian, began the series with a talk about college and university libraries.
