If there were a market for another format, one of the broadcasters would have it.Paul Ehlis, general manager of KKFM and KKMG-FM, agrees.“You need more of an audience to support more formats than we have. There is not the revenue base in Colorado Springs, for example, for an (ages) 18-24 radio station.” Other radio changes in ’94 included KILO-FM’s move from 93.9 to 94.3, which was required when a Denver station boosted its.pow.fir.work announced a merger with magazine publisher Sound Money Investors Inc.KRDO “probably experienced more changes in 1994 than we ever have in the past,” says General Manager Neil Klock-ziem. “We retooled three radio stations and started with two of them from almost ground floor.” KRDO-AM/FM and KHII-FM were converted to computer-controlled stations, went to a digital format from analog and all audio went onto hard-disk drive.The station's studios were remodeled into “a state-of-the-art facility.” KRDO-AM changed from a music format to an allsports format. Easy-listening KRDO-FM became adult-contemporary Peak 95.1.
