Ready-To-EatMeal TestedBy 588thTesting of the experimental in-dividual ready-to-eat meal by theField Evaluation Agency beganlast week at Camp A. P. Hill.Technologist Thomas B. Burt,and a test team headed by Cap!,Emory B. Webster, all of theFood and Container Test Division, initiated the test at Camp A. P. Hill utilizing troops of the 588th Engineer Battalion from Foil Lee.Representatives of tha Food Division, U. S, Army Natick Lab; oratories, Natick, Mass., observed the initial test procedures. They were Dr. Herbert Hollander, associate director for food; Maj. Dan Tobin, combat arms advisor; and Mrs. Mary Klieka.Each menu of the-ready-to-eat individual meals consists of a meat, fruit, bread, dessert, drink and accessory items. Some of the foods are dehydrated and some are preserved by standard heat processing.
