Planned Parenthood Tea SetFor Thursday Next in VillageBy ROBERTAA GROUP of welfare-conscious women of Oak Park and River Forest has been invited to a tea Thursday afternoon, February 10, at the Gordon D. Shorney heme to- learn the nature of the services of the Planned Parenthood association.Explaining the progress of the-association’s work in the Chicago area will be Mrs. Edna Rankin McKinnon, executive director, under whose leadership‘ten clinics are operated in the city with staffs of skilled personnel, including doctors, nurses and social workers.M rs. McKinnon, who has been associated with the parenthood organization since 1937, will interpret the stated aim of the association—“to assist families in the spacing of the birth of their children so as to assure wanted babies who will be given the care to which they are entitled,”Assisting Mrs. Shorney as hostess will be the Mesdames G. Willard Hales, Hales Bailey, Walter Herrick, Jr., Robert L. Fisher, and Renshaw Smith..Mrs. Joseph C. Sampsell of Chicago, one of the chairmen of the women’s division of Planned Parenthood, will accompany Mrs. McKinnon. Their association has the approval of | I the Association of Comhierce and Industry, American Medical! association, the New York Academy of Medicine, the Federal!I mt Ii Council of Churches of Christ, and the Central Conference of \mcrican Rabbis.
