Sarah Elizabeth Anderson diedat 1:15 o'clock this afternoon at herhome, 354, Twenty-third street* afteran illneea of three weeks, and duringthe last forty-eight hours. Her physicians used eveir means In their power to stem the tide, 'but the sands oflife ran out steadily, and she continuedto weaken hour by hour* last night andthis morning until ithe end came. Herillness had not been one which causedalarm, and until yesterday it wasthought that her life would be saved.She was claimed by a complication ofdisorders incident to the change of life*and had been very ill at times beforephysicians were summoned* Rest wasalmost impossible and heir dldt was notof a solid nature. Naturally a strongwoman, mentally and physically, shestrove with all her power to releaseherself from her bonds. She was muchrelieved last evening and slept almoststeadily until morning, somethingwhich had not occurred for severaldays; hopes were entertained that shewould gain strength, but she did not.Her death was as If she had fallenasleep and there is the shadow of asmile on her lips* The greatest strugglewas to remain with her children, nilof whom were present at her bedsideas she dropped into the sleep thatknows no awakening.Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Anderson wasone of the most prominent and popular woman 4n Ogden cityand Weber county* Her lifehad been the (making of one grand teatlmonlal to the goodness and worth ofherself as a woman, a wife and aiiother; she was one of the noblestand truest of friends; a mother, whoselove bound her children to her; a wifewhose life was all in all to her husband,and when he died, she was both fatherand mother to the children.Her popularity led her friends, in1895, to name her for the State legislature, and she was elected* and sat asone of tho few women of the worldhave sat, as legislators of the state.She was an honor to the community inwhatever walk of life she was placed.To her close friends, almost innumerable* ^he was known as Aunt Lizzie,and hor cheerful manner* her lovingkindnesses, and pleasant dispositiontmade her so near and dear that herdeath will be deeply mourned.Mrs, Anderson was born at Kays-vllle. Utah. January 30* 1853. At theage of IT* she married Dr. Porter L,Anderson* of Ogden* and since thattime she has made her home here. January 9, 1888. Dr. Anderson died* leaving to the care of the widow three girlsand two boys* all of whom have livedin Ogden up to five weeks ago. In3897 she was one of the representativesin the State legislature from Webercounty. She leaves five children, LeeAnderson* Mrs. Alta Anderson Costello,now in Oakland* California; DeweyAnderson, and Misses Maud and Florence- the two latter being from 16 toIS years of age. She had two fullbrothers* C. A* Nelson of Ogden* andWm* L. Wilson. Safford* Arizona; anda half-brother and half-sister* J, II.Iwhich no danger was anticipated until ^Nelson and Mrs* II* L. Griffin of Ogden.Mrs. Costello and Mr, Nelson, of Arizona have been notified. Mrs, Costelloleft here but five weeks ago to go toher new home at Oakland and is nowen route borne.The funeral will probably be heldWednesday.
