Main Street to install the caissons. Not shown is the ini-; tial augering through the 50 feet of clay above the granite boulders, and the limestone, bedrock underneath. Following the removal of the clay a temporary steel liner is set in place and a permanent steel liner is set inside the temporary liner. IThere are 64 major concrete caiss,onsp*some containing nearly 100 tons of concrete, constructed: at depths extending down to 85 feet below; ground.After the 50; feet of clay, these major caissons’ were drilled [through 15 feet of granite boulder and into .1,0 to 20 feet of limestone bedrock at the perimeter and . centre of the foundation. ’As well, 10 cast-in-place piles and 50 preicast piles have also gone into the foundation. Reinforcingthe more than 4,800 tons of High-streiigth concrete poured during the foundation work is 50 tons ofsfeel.--: ‘_
