Five Spot Creature At Ai rportPOINT PLEASANT — A flv-%*ing object took a wave-off from the Gallipolis Airport Sunday and left five startled men scratching their heads.A description of the flying object matched that of the strange creature which has been sighted several times in Mason County since Nov. 14.The men, Ernest Thompson, Eddie Adkins and Leo Edwards, all of Gallipolis; Everett Wedge, Point Pleasant, and Henry Upton, Leon, said they spotted the strange flying object about 2:05 p.m.At first the men thought it was a homemade plane, but as it came closer they discovered it resembled a bird. The creature was grey in color and had a wing span of between seven and eight feet, they saidThompson said the thing was following the Ohio River shore line about 300 feet in the air. The men estimated its speed at 70 to 80 miles an hour.Wedge and Thompson took off in a plane and combed the area between Gallipolis and Huntington, but were unable to get another glimpse of the creature.The men said the creature matched the description of a Sandhill crane, which a WestVirginia University professorcontends is the thing being
