One hour after KBLU-TV wasgiven notice to take to the air last night, the station wasbroadcasting.Bob Crites, station manager, said that a telegram giving “authorized program test authority” was received from the Federal Communications Commission at 8:30 last night. Station personnel was in working clothes helping finish the building.By 9:30, using one chair, twolights and one camera, the new tv station started broadcasting. They ran a CBS film on sports and a variety of short films.Crites said today that the CBS cable was not yet hooked up but that it was hoped this could be done by Saturday to show' the Army-Navy game. For the rest of the week, Channel 13 will be on the air from 8 to 10 p.m. Future programming will be announced.
