Mrs. Mattie Powell j j(Mrs. Mattie Langston Powell,: lde widow of A. L. Powell, of 62:}!amGregg Avc-., died Tuesday morning in a local hospital after an illness of severalweeks.Funeral services will he held at A p.m. Wednesday in the Stoudenmire Chapel by Dr. Francis S. Chessoti, Burial will follow in ML Hope Cemetery.Active pallbearers will be Julian W. Langston, Carol Hugh Calculi, A. McTaggart Sprott, Stanley Baldwin , Charles E. Jernigan, and H. S. a 1 i Forte..Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. D. Lamar Lee, Dr. Frank R. Lee, Dr. Myers II. Hicks, Graham Rose, William T. F,ad-Idy, William C. Snow, and Earl C. Andrews. -Mrs. Powell was born in Florence County, a daughter ofthe. late Jule W. and Ann Eliza Oliver Langston. She was a licensed practical n ti r s e j employed by Saunders rj Memorial Hospital for the past I* 25 years. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Bethany Sunday School Class of tiie church.Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. J. Howard Welch and Mrs. N. Morris, bolli of Florence, Mrs. R. A. Kirvetl of Pamplico, and Mrs. Edward Mernone of Washington, D. C.; two sons, Curlis L. Powell Sr. and Aurice L. Powell, both of Florence; two brothers, Josh E. Langston and Wallace Langston, bolh o f Tim-monsville; two sisters, Mrs. W. A. Jeffords of Florence and Mrs. H. W.
