R. Daw—brought quick promises tonight of action by authorities against the lynchers.District Attorney James Davis and sheriff’s deputies planned Immediate steps to identify and prosecute the mob members, who seized Clyde L. Johnson, 24, from his Jail cell and hanged him to a pine tree three miles outside this Siskiyou mountain town.“I will start an immediate investigation/* David said “and do everything the law requires to apprehend members of the mob.**TJndersheriff W. W.B.A Few,Notes on Parking Areas That Are “Reserved” And What the Public Can Do About Such Matters If It So Wishes to RevoltrpHE FLEA sympathizes with the JL Colorado Springs woman who went on a rampage Thursday and broke down a bunch of “no parking signs.The police had better keep their case out of court. No jury composed of every day. motorists will ever convict a fellow sufferer for tearing up “no parking signs.After all's said and done, Just why should certain businesses be allowed the right to keep the. streets in front of their premises clear of cars?Who owns the curbs and streets?Are we to assume that the possession of a business location entitles the occupant to prior claim on the curbing in front for his own convenience?The Flea ignores most of these nonparking signs—excepting alone those at fire plugs (which he believes to be far too wide) and those in front of schools.The others he heeds only as he would a wafting breeze.MOST Cities have “reserved” so many spots along the curb that it is almost Impossible for any but the privileged classes to park anywhere in the downtown area.Ardmore, the Flea believes, is not as bad as some other towns he has visited, in this respect.By actual measure, however, the total footage of curbing slated as “non-parking” are^. in Ardmore would be something to amaze one.Firemen say the wide strip on either side of the fire plugs is necessary for the parking of the pumper trucks when a fire breaks out.
