FAMOUS MECKLENBURG HOTEL IS BURNEDDanville, Va., Special.—The beautiful .Mecklenburg Hotel at Chase City, 70 miles east of this city on the Keys-ville and Durham branch of the Southern Railway, was destroyed by fire Friday afternoon. The hotel was Mi expansive frame structure, built yeas ago by the Mecklenburg ptlrings Corporation at a cost, including furnishings of $200,000. At the time (. Ibe fire, it was owned by theestate of M. L. T. Davis, of Norfolk, and was leased and managed by \V. T. Hughes, who had conducted it for several years. The owners carried only $75,000 insurance on the hoteland equipment. Only about 30 guests were registered at the hostelry at tht time of the fire.
