Charles Wheelock passed away iti s o'clock yesterday morning.She was struck in the street by a runaway lu»r»e on Saturday afternoon, und she never afterwards* recognised those about her. never, in fart, opened her eyes to the scenes of this world. A blow upon the head doubtless led to a brain trouble that nature could not overcome. She was surrounded from the moment of Injury by loving friends. Her huabund and daughter end slaters and nieces never left her bed-elde until the vital spark had tied.Mrs. Wheelock'* maiden name was Anna Oasslt.v. Her father owned a cotton factory In Florence. Ala., where the deceased was born. Her mother was Miss Ivft-wleh. of Virginia, and she was a sister of the wife of Judge Wood, of Florence. She was married lo Major Wheelock, the well-known architect. In lSTf., and they ramo to this city in ISSL*. Slu* soon nf ter wards became a member of the First Methodist church. Her sisters, Mrs. H. C. Vaughn and Mrs. Hardle Rrowrn, also live In Birmingham.Mrs. Whcelcick was a devoted mother, and her hand was always open to the needy. Site wax never so huppy as when she wus working for others, hut she always preferred to do good by stealth.The funeral service* will be held at 10 o'clock today at the First Methodist church, in these service* Dr. Kelly will he assisted by Lr. Murray, of the Church or the Advent.In her younger day* Mrs. Wheelock gave much of her time to the cultivation of her undoubted musical talents, und she never wholly abandoned the study of the an in some form.
