Educated in Winnipeg, he graduated in ; 1985 from the University of Manitoba with a degree in Interior Design. , He was on the Dean's JHonour List. 1Upon graduation 1 Bruce went to work for thefirmofYabuPushel- ■ burg in Toronto. In 1988 he was invited to join the firm of Tony Masters in Sydney, Australia. 1 Bruce loved and missed j Canada, but had an un- • quenehable thirst for 1 new horizons. He was very happy in Australia and only returned to Winnipeg in July 1990 ■ because of AIDS. 1 In his all too short ca-; reer, Bruce left a perma- ■ nent mark in North : America and Australia. His designs received many prestigious 1 ARIDQ awards, indud- : ing the following: Mill! 1 Showroom, New York, : silver - 198S; Leone, shop, Vancouver, 2 gold ■ -1987; Irish Shop for Men, Toronto, gold - ■ 1987; Enterac Proper- ■ ties, off ice, Toronto, gold - 1987; Les Cours Mont Royal, Montreal, gold -1988. Work completed only recently in Austra- ■ lia is eligible for awards for 1991/92.His work has been widely reported in publications including: Canadian Interiors, Book World Space Design, Interior Design, Azure, Canadian Architect, Contract Magazine, Visual : Merchandising and in the American Express 1 Brochure.Bruce’s family, relatives and world wide friends will miss his in-1 fectious humour, gentleness, complete lack of prejudice, non-conformity, desire to see new things as well as the old; but most of all, his off-the-wall spontaneity.His parents wish to thank all friends, family, neighbours and co-workers who helped Bruce and them over the difficult months. They will never be able to thank everyone for what they have done. They wish to say a special thank-you, however, to those individuals at Health Sciences, in the Palliative Care Ward at St. Boniface Hospital; and to the Kali Shiva volunteers and the Village Clinic staff.In accord with Bruce’s wishes, no service will be held. Cremation has already taken place. The family would ike anyone who wishes to come to their home at 148 Woodhaven Blvd., between 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26 for a Celebration of Bruce’slife.In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations in Bruce's name to Kali Shiva, P.O. Box 2985, Winnipeg, R3C 4B5 or the Emergency Relief Fund, do the Village Clinic, 668 Corydon Ave., Winnipeg, R3M 0X7. Young United Church.Now he flies with the angels, his spirit sailingon eager wings across the universe. He is the colours of the rainbow and bright spring flowers. His laughter is carried on the wind. We feel him in the sunshine and warm beach sand. Now he flies with the angels and dances with the stars ■ over the awakening world.
