KUEHL — November 26, 1987 at Medicine Hat, Mr. Lester Kuehl aged 82 years. Mr. Kuehl leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife Flora of Medicine Hat, one daughter Eileen Wirth of Edmonton, 2 grandsons, Wesley Wirth of Oak Bank, Manitoba, Claire Wirth of Abbotsford, B.C. one grand-daugther Roxanne Wirth of Edmonton, four great grandchildren, two sisters, Viola Getz of Killaloe, Ontario, Gertrude Zummach of Lun-nenburg, Ontario and numerous nieces and nephews and friends. Lester Kuehl was born on January 20, 1905 to Herman and Mary (nee Kargus) Kuehl at Brudnell, Renfrew County, Ontario. At the age of 18 he accepted Christ as his personal savior and was baptized and joined Lyndock Baptist Church in Ontario. He went to Balgonie, Sask. in 1926 on a harvest excursion and decided to make his home on the prairies so he bought a farm. He married Flora Paul on January 20th, 1928. He farmed near Balgonie, Sask. for some 31 years. He enjoyed the farm and for some years grew registered wheat, selling it to the U.S.A. He was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church at Davin, a church which he helped build, and a regular attender of Sunday School and Worship services. In 1958 he sold the farm and moved to Regina. It was at Regina where he helped to build the Faith Baptist Church of which he was a trustee, he took his work seriously. He was dependable and wanted work well done. He believed in tithing and for a number of recent years he gave 20% of his income to the Lord’s work. In 1980 he suffered a slight stroke so in October of that year he and Flora moved to the Garden Apts, in Medicine Hat and he became a member of Temple Baptist Church where he was a faithful member and contributed financially to the new addition of the church which is appreciated by so many. For some 23 years he and Flora enjoyed travelling to Arizona to spend the winters. The funeral service will be held in Temple Baptist Church on Monday, November 30, 1987 at 2 P.M. with Pastor Irwin Kujat and Pastor Loren Weber officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Those wishing may pay their respects at Cook’s Funeral Chapel on Sunday from 1 -5 and 7 - 9 P.M. and Monday at Temple Baptist Church, prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Temple Baptist Memorial Fund. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to COOK’S FUNERAL CHAPEL LTD.
