Adam Hoerbert, Sr. Is Dead—Mre. Anna Remmers Died Friday. Pekin, Oct. 29.—(Special.)—Adam Hoerbert, Sr. one of the oldest and most respected residents of Pekin, died today at 11:30 o'clock at his home, 428 Caroline street, following a brief ill ness, the result of an attack of pneu monia. He was taken suddenly ill one week ago, and pneumonia rapidly de veloped, causing dissolution today. He was a native of Bellstein, Hessen Darmstadt, Germany, born June 24, 1829. He had been a resident of the United States for sixty-eight years and of Ilinois since 1852. His marriage was with Miss Rosina C. Weiland in Lancaster, Pa., in 1852. Surviving him are the following children: Mrs. Katie Johannes, Miss Elizabeth Hoerbert, Mrs. Rosinna Stoltz, Misses Sarah and Mary Hoerbert, Henry Hoerbert, all of Pekin; Adam Hoerbert, Hartsburg, Sr.; Mrs. Anna Leifheit, Aurora, IL; Mrs. Fred Becker, Manito. Death of Mrs. Remmers. Mrs. Anna Remmers died this morn ing at the county hospital, where she had been taken on Wednesday. She was born October 10, 1836, in Ostfries land, Germany, but had been a resi dent of this country since childhood. She is survived by two children, Mrs. William Wil? and Minard Remmers, both of Pekin. Jacob Weyhrich Dies. Jacob Weyhrich, a former well known farmer of Sand Prairie town ship, died last night at his home in Nebraska at the age of 86 years. His brother, Peter W. Weyhrich, of Sand Prairie township, left this morning to attend the funeral, Pekin, Nov. 1.—(Special.)—Ralph A. Flamme, of this city, secured an an nullment of his marriage with Beatrice Flamme in the circuit court today. The couple wedded in Bloomington in May, 1915, and the husband alleges that he discovered that his wife had not been divorced from a former husband. The averment is that his wife was first married to Emil Weegelman, of Deca tur, in St. Louis February 13, 1911, and from whom she has not been divorced. The wife, it is alleged, gave the name of Florence B. Edwards when she mar ried Ralph A. Flamme. The court or dered a decree setting aside the mar riage. Box Cars Burn. Seven box cars, a flagman’s shanty, and the building occupied by the mas ter mechanic in the South Pekin Northwestern railway yards, were de stroyed by fire shortly after midnight last night. Sheriff Wilson and Deputy Dunnington were summoned to South Pekin, as the railway officials believe the blaze to have been of an incendiary origin. During the night a burglar broke ine to the barbershop there, secured be tween $40 and $50 in money, and tools valued at about $75. Pekin, Nov. 3.—(Special.)—Three marriage licenses were granted today: Lewis Frederick Pitts, 18, Clarissa E. Eubank, both of Pekin. Henry F. Hoffman, 28, Tremont, and Rose Miller, 19, Morton, Sidney Thompson, 21, Malone, and Ella Slater, 21, Pekin. Jurors Are Discharged. There will be no jury trials at the term of the county court, as the docket ‘was called this morning, and all of the cases set for trial were either set tled or continued. Consequently the ‘eighteen jurors summoned were dis charged. It has been agreed that the damage [suit of John Sheppert, administrator, ivs. Peoria Eastern Railway Com pany, will be tried at the November term. The husband is seeking to re cover damages for the death of his wife, who was killed in the Big Four yards here about two years ago by a west-bound passenger train, Brief Mention. County Clerk Behrens has purchased the residence property at 4123 Elizabeth street from his cousin, Henry A. Behrens, of Chicago, the consideration being $3,200. The will of the late Howard Runyon, of Malone township, was probated to day. His wife, Grace Runyon, and daughter, Margaret G. Runyon, were appointed executors. The real estate is valued at $36,000 and personal prop erty $10,700. ‘The heirs are the widow and four daughters, John Fitzgerald, trustee, vs. William A. Potts and wife, foreclosure, is the title of a new case filed today, ‘The action is to recover on a loan of $13,000 with accrued interest for two years. Security for the notes was given by a trust deed to about 600 acres of land in Mackinaw township. John C. Lynn Dies. Teheran, Nov. 3.—(Special.)—John C. Lynn died here yesterday. He was born in Cass county March 10, 1854. The funeral will be held at Lease’s Grove church Friday at 10 a. m. and will be conducted by Rev. A. D. Moon, of Easton, assisted by Rev. G. Weaver, of Teheran, and will be under the auspices of Mason City lodge, No. 403. A. F. A. M. Interment will be in Hickory cemetery Oakford. Funeral of Mrs. Nancy Wills. Mackinaw, Nov. 2.—(Special.)—Mrs. Nancy Wills, widow of Nathan Wills, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Amerman, Monday, after sev eral months’ sickness. She was past 80 years of age, and leaves two sons, James and Nathan, of Mackinaw, and four daughters, Mrs. Charles Amer man, Mrs. William Trough, Mrs. Nat Green and Mrs. Homer Duvall. The funeral was held from the Methodist church this afternoon and burial was in the Mackinaw cemetery.
