Lucas woman killed when car struck by trainLUCAS — Charlotte Irene Hyde, 41, was killed Friday about 3:30 p.m. at the first railroad crossing about one-half mile east of Lucas.Mrs. Hyde was northwest bound into Lucas on Highway 34, when her car was struck by a Burlington Northern freight train. She was alone in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene. The crossing did not have warning signals, authorities said.Mrs. Hyde had been a resident of the Lucas community since 1970.She is survived by her husband, Ken; ason, Ken Jr.; a married daughter,Katheryn Weaver; and one grandchild.The body is at the Fielding Funeral Home.The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Chariton.
