DEATH OF AN AGED PIONEER.Died, in this city, at tbp residence of his daughter, Mrs. Alary Ann Sykes, on Monday morning, June 13th, 1SS1, Alp. Henky Newton, in the ninety-second year of his age. He was born inVermont* About the year 1800 his parents removed to Western New York. In his early youth ho resided near Erie, pa., and helped to get out the timber of which the United States vessels werif built with which Commodore Perry won his glorious victory on Lake Eric. Air. Newton entered the United States Army and was on the inarch tp Detroit for the relief of Gen’l. Hull; but the surrender having taken place, his company returned to Erie, Pa., where he was mustered out. Mr. Newton has lived in thiscounty and Hamilton county, Ohio, or we might say in this vicinity for upwards of sixty years, and in his declining years he received the loving, faithful care pf his. daughter, A|xs. Marry Ann Sykes. His remains were deposited In | the Greendale Cemetery on yesterday j afternoon.
