MIDRIFF Douglas Whitehead Midkiff, *7. of 115 South St , died early today In the Veteran* Hospital at Durham, N C. following sev* era! week* of illness jHe was a native of Plttsyl* \ania county and son of Mr* Martha Midkiff of Martinsville and the late I. A Midkiff. He ard his family had been residents of Martinsville for the pa*t 10 year* after moving here from near Greensboro He was employed by Thornton a Bakery a- a route salesman 1He was a veteran of World War Tw *. and a member of Starling Avenue BipUst Church.Surviving are his wife. Mrs. Janie H Midkiff and one daughter. Martha Alice Midkiff of the home; hi* mother; and two brother*. Morris Midkiff of Greensboro and Harry Midkiff of Brooklyn. N. Y. ♦| Funeral services wi’1 be conducted at 3 30 p m Saturday at Starling Avenue Baptist church bv Dr Thomas O. Hall Jr and the Hev. R S. Epperly Rur al will be in Rotelawn park here. (•The body Is it the McKee Funeral chapel and will be taken to the church at 2 p. m. Saturday.
