After a brief illness, David Sheldon Moffat, or Orono, passed away at Bowmanville Memorial Hospital on Thursday, July 6, 1961. He was in his 62nd year.A son of the David Moffat and Agnes Scott, the deceased was born February 5, 1900, near Orono. Mr. Moffat farmed in the Orono district most of his life. He attended Orono United Church and was a life member of Orono Lodge A.F. A.M. No. 325.\Mr. Moffat is survived by his wife, the former Violet Stewart, and three Children: Dawn (Mrs. Keith Finnie) of South Monaghan, William of Lansdowne and Jean of Peterborough. Also surviving are two sisters and three brothers: Jean (Mrs. George Allin), Newcastle; William of Orono; Harvey i of Milton; Clara (Mrs. W. F. Rick-j ard), Newcastle; Robert of Oronoj and five grandchildren: Janice,1Heather and Andrea Finnie; Stewart and Stephen Moffat.iThe beautiful floral tributes and generous donations to the Ontario*Heart Foundation were evidence of the affection and esteem in whichthe deceased was held.*A Masonic memorial service was held on the evening of July 7 and the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. July 8 in the Barlow Funeral Home, Part St., Orono. Interment was in Orono Cemetery. Rev. Basil Long, minister of Orono United Church conducted the services.Pallbearers were nephews: John Moffat, Grant Moffat, Aleck Moffat! Robert Moffat, Harold Moffat and David Rickard.
