WILFRED JANSENIt is with deep sorrow that the family announces the sudden passing of Wilfred Jansen, aged 69, on Monday, January 25, 1993 in Mesa.Ariz.Wilfred will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Alice (Gaudreau); daughter Janice (Dave) Pearse of Selkirk, Man., son Randy of Winnipeg] grandchildren, Monica, Michael and Clayton. He is survived by his brothers, Edward (Doris) of White Rock, B.C., and Gerry (Anne) of Vancouver, B.C., his sister An-netta Tennant (Sandy) of Winnipeg and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Belia and father Karel,Wilf was born in Bird’s Hill, Man, and moved to St. Francis Xavier, and later to Winnipeg. I-Ie started working in the family business, Jansen Bros, until 1941, when he enlisted in the Air Force and served overseas, He returned home in 1946, and resumed his position at Jansen Bros. In 1965 Jansen Produce Ltd. was established, and Wilf became a salesman for the western Manitoba region. Wilf became Manager when Jansen Produce was purchased by the Codville Co. in 1977, He held his post until his retirement in 1984, He was President of the Manitoba Vegetable Association from 1970-1971. After much hard work and long hours, Dad realized his dream of retiring in Mesa, Ariz., where he donated much of his time and energy working with friends at Casa Serena. He wasPresident of the Social Club, and pursued his favorite pastime, golf.Dad was always someone you could count on for help and advice, and he will be greatly missed by those who came to know him.Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 30 at 1:00 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, .Trans. Canada Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Rd., the Rev. R. Hamlin officiating. Interment following in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Friends who wish may call for visitation on Friday, January 29 between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m., also at the Chapel.Active pallbearers will be his nephews.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wilf's memory to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB.
