MRS. SARAH COWLES LITTLEDIED TUESDAY IN OBERLINMi.;. Little, daughter of lTois.‘Or j Henry Cowles an.I Alice Welch Cow-les, was born in Oberlin, March tl.i1S3S. She began to leach school at fifteen and after her graduation from the Classical Course here in 1S.VJ, took up teaching as her life work. Two years were spent in the grammar school at Columbus before going to t*ie State School for the blind in Janes-i ville, Wisconsin.She married Thomas H. Little, su-pei intendent of that institution in IstJl*. t’pon his death in 1N7she was appointed his successor and held the jc sition of superintendent until 18!H, giving ber in all thirty years’ expert-(Mice in the (duration of the blind.The last twenty years of her lire were spent, in oberlin where she was actively connected with the Tank Home for Missionary Children. For the past ten years she was treasurer of the Ohio branch of the Woman’s tioard of Missions of the Interior.
