VERA RIOTHVera Belle (Shubert) Rioth, 82, Ottawa, died 1\ies-day, Jan. 10,2006, in Reading,She was born March 14, 1923, at Wilsey, to Clive Oscar and Nellie (Peterson) Rtoth Shubert.She married J. Marion Rioth on June 2,1942. He survives of the home.She was a member of the Wilsey Christian Church and continued church activities throughout her life.She participated in many church activities including choir, teaching children, women's missionary groups and serving as as clerk, financial secretary and treasurer.Her active church membership followed the changes in family residency including American Baptist Churches in Council Grove, Pratt, Derby and Ottawa.During her grade and high school years at Wilsey, she sang in quartets and ensembles and was awarded a medal in state music competition. She was a 4-H club member and later a clubleader.She enjoyed quilting and was a member Ottawa Quitters’ Guild. She carried books-on-wheels as a member of Friends of Ottawa Library. She was also a member of Daughters of the American Revolution,Franklin County Genealogy Society, Ottawa University Women and the Whatever Club (formerly Modernettes EHU).She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Malonne and Dale Davies, Reading; a sister, Marie Garner, and brothers, Marion A. and Russell Shubert, all of Council Grove;, granddaughters Dawn Schoepflin and husband, Bruce, Osage City, and Dorene Davies Olathe; and four great-grandchildren.She also was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Rena and Gilbert Koepsel, and an infant son.Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church, Ottawa.Graveside services and interment will be at 3 p.m. at the Wilsey Cemetery, Wilsey. •Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Ottawa c/o Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O.
