He was the first Lutheran to own property in Steinbach which caused quite an issue amongst the town fathers.On July 16, 1899 he was united in marriage with Miss Barbara Mauthe. They were blessed with nine children. His wife Barbara passed away May 6, 1931.On January 2, 1932 he was married to Mrs. Henry Penner and they lived together until her death on Sept. 2, 1946.On February 14, 1947 he was united in marriage with Mrs. Adele Buechler of Waldersee. She predeceased him on Jan. 22, 1956. z Mr. Kreutzer retired from the blacksmith shop on January 1, 1946, but continued to assist his two sons in the shop until 1956.Throughout his life Mr. Kreutzer enjoyed exceptionally good health until May 24, 195*7 when he was confined to hospital for three weeks. He recovered ap-1 precially so that he could be home again, however always under doctor's care.Early this past December, hemitted to hospital on Sunday. Dec. 24. Complications set in and he passed away on Dec. 31.Throughout his life he was very active in church affairs. Hewas church elder for many years, served on the town council and was trustee on the Steinbach School Board for 12 years. Ho was a charter member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Steinbach.
