VIVIAN MCCOY WELLS• Services for Vivian McCoy Wells, 71, Lawrence, who died this morning at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary with the Rev. Edgar Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in the Nortonville Cemetery.Memorial services for Mrs. Wells will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Seventh Day Baptist Church, Nortonville.Mrs. Wells was born Feb. 27, 1913, at Nortonville. She worked for the Eastern Kansas Telephone Co. before moving to Lawrence. Here, she was an inn-keeper for Holiday Inn from 1955 until her retirement in 1965.She belonged to the Nortonville Presbyterian Church.Survivors include her husband, Alfred, of the home; three sons, Robert J., James R., and A. Randy Jr., all of Lawrence; one daughter, Judith K. Johnson, St. Charles, Mo.; two sisters, Marian Watson, Kansas City, Mo., and Joan Binkley, Topeka; and 12 grandchildren.Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary. The family prefers memorials to the Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn.’s respiratory and speech therapy programs.
