There had been no warn ig of danger, death being caused by an attack of apoplexy. Mr. Summers was well advanced ir years, and had been connected with China and Japan' since the fifties. He was for a considerable time in the employment of the Japanese Government, but during the past ten years he devoted himself to keeping an educational establishment, which, owing in great part to the high qualities arid indefatigable industry of his daughters* enjoyed a large measure of success.A _ 111 ml « • t « « I I •*
