Funeral service held for Edna Reta1 MabonOn Tuesday, November 17, 1992, Edna Reta Mabon passed to her eternal rest at the Tri Lake Health Centre, Killamey, Manitoba. She was 89 years, 2 months, 23 days.Beta was bom August 25, 1903 to George and Mary Weedmark at South Cypress, later known as Stockton, Manitoba. She was the youngest oL five children - three brothers and one sister. The family later moved to a farm 3 miles north of Neelin where Reta lived until her marriage to Carl William Mabon on November 7, 1923. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in November, 1983 ~ a very special occasion for Reta and Carl.After Carl died on August 6, 1984 Reta tried to remain in their home at 214 Hossack Street, but lost the battle in February of 1988 when she had a fall causing her to be hospitalized until August 2nd when she took up residence in the Bayside Personal Care Home, Ellis Drive. Room #29 was to be her home until Friday, November 6, 1992 when she was transferred to Acute Care.Mourning her passing are her daughter Ruth (Grant) Stephenson of Saskatoon; her son Glenn (Orla) Mabon of Red Deer; her grandchildren Mark (Susan), Vaughn (Sharon), Virginia, Holly (Ronald), Heather (Gary), Kerrilia (Larry), Curt (Bev), Gayle (Debra), Karen Richard), Shane (Laura) and Daryle; great grandchildren Brennan, Travis, Shawnasey, Landon, Tristen, Spencer, Carleigh, Carter, Raysha, Regan, Ranae, Colton and Carly; one brother Albeit, many nieces, nephews, a host of friends and herBayside family,Reta was predeceased by her husband, her parents, her brothers Alton and Chester, her sister Pearl who died of typhoid fever at the age of 11, and her niece Qara.The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Dennis Danielson from Killamey Mennonite Church, Bay Avenue at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 1992 with interment in the Killamey Cemetery.Pallbearers were grandsons,Mark, Vaughn, Curtis and Shane Stephenson, Daryle Mabon and Larry Wiebe.Flowers are gratefully declined but should anyone wish, memorial contributions may be made toBayside Personal Care c/o the Royal Bank, Killamey or a charity of his/her choice.Reta's wishes were respectfully carried out by Garth Nichol of the Killamey Funeral Home.
