SWISHER_Emi! L. Ludvlcek, 75, of 1734Derby Ave. NW, Swisher, went home peacefully to be with theLord on Tuesday, April 14, 1998, atSt. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Services will be held Saturday at the Christian’s Meeting Room, 1266 Wilson Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, at 2 p.m., with Samuel Ludvicek officiating. Graveside services will follow in Castek Cemetery near Swisher, with Lyle Ludvicek presiding. Friends may call at the meeting room on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday after 12:30 p.m. Brosh Chapel, Cedar Rapids, is in charge of arrangements.Survivors include five daughters,Joyce Boulard and husband Norman of Louisville, Ky.,Olive Ludvicek and Grace Nederhoff and husband Raymond, all of Swisher, GwenWilliams and husband Michael of Cedar Rapids and Anita Jackson and husband Vincent of The Colony, Texas; four sons, Samuel Ludvicek and wife Gayl of Longboat Key, Fla., Paul Ludvicek and wife Linda of Swisher, Lyle Ludvicek and wife Ghislaine of West Amana and Kenneth Ludvicek and wife Laura of Amana; and 17 grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dora Zimmerman Ludvicek; his wife, Ruth; a sister, Alice Renaud; and a brother, John Ludvicek.Bom Feb. 5, 1923, in Swisher, Emil married Ruth M. Pattersonon May 10, 1952, in Saskatchewan,Canada. She died in 1996. Mr. Ludvicek farmed in Johnson County for many years.A memorial fund has been established.
