Edgar Charles James Jr.1934 - 2012• H A V ANA*Edgar Charles James Jr.. 78. of Havana, passed away at his home at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, April 1.2012.He was born Feb. 15,1934, in Jacksonville, to Edgar Charles and Vivian Ruth (Taylor) James Sr. He married Anna Arnold and then later married Marilyn Boker on Oct. 19,1968, in Rushville. She preceded him in deathOct. 26, 2003.Mr. James is survived by two sons,Steven Ray (Tina) James and Clifford Eugene James, both of Bluffs; two stepdaughters, Kim Borgal of Nebraska and Kari (Bruce) Rogers of Gokona, Alaska; four brothers, David (Peggy) Sturgeon, Donnie (Rita) Sturgeon, Jack (Rudi) Sturgeon and Tom (Monica) Sturgeon; nine grandchildren, Summer Lea James, Raymond Charles James, Meaka Anne Knight, Tanista Knight, Grace Rogers, Nickole Borgal, Michelle Borgal, Mickie Borgal and Gregory Amos Frost; three great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; sister, Janice Marilyn; son, William Lee James; and granddaughters, Dosha-la Graves and Amy Borgal.Mr. James was a very active member of the Havana Church of the Nazarene. He was also a member of the NRA. He worked as a meat cutter for 26 vears. He then was an officer with the Havana Police Department for two years and a Deputy Sheriff in Mason County for 16 years,retiring in 1996.Funeral services will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana at 11 a.m. Thursday, with visitation one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow the services at Faurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. The Rev. Jim Buchanan will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
