DeathsALFRED R. WELLS SR.Services are pending for Alfred R. “Al” Wells Sr., 77, 2321 Westchester Rd., at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.Mr. Wells died Monday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 22, 1908, in Nor-tonville and moved to Lawrence from there in 1956. He was a retired electrician, and had work-ed for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 226, in Topeka. After his retirement in 1973, he raised Christmas trees with his son, Bob, south of Lawrence.He was a member of the Nor-tonville Seventh Day Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge No. 226, Nortonville, and the Scottish Rite Bodies of Lawrence.He married Vivian McCoy on April 12, 1936, in Nortonville. She died on Feb. 11,1985.Survivors include three sons, Robert J., Rt. 2, James R., of Lawrence, and Alfred “Randy,” Lawrence; a daughter, Judith K. Johnson, St. Charles, Mo.; a sister, Vivian Harris of El Monte, Calif.; and 12 grandchildren.
