FRENCH MATRIX BREAKS ENDURANCE RECORD FOR WOMENPARIS, Sept. 4.—M3)—Mmle.Maryse Bastie today broke the world’s women’s endurance record for sustained flight. She landed at 9:31 a. m., after exactly 38 hours aloft.Her mark was two hours, 13 minutes and five seconds better than that of Lena Bernstein, made May 2. Mmle. Bastie previously had held the record at 27 hours.Mmle. Bastie altogether set three new world's flying records, that for a woman in sustained flight, for either man or woman lone pilot in sustained flight, and for sustained flight in a light machine.She came down worn out with cold and fatigue and stumbled and would have fallen had she not been helped from the cockpit of her plane.
