Arthur's court on Thursday, and before the largest crowd that court has ever held was charged with ten serious Crimea- Seven of these were charges of murder. two of assault with intent to kill and niurder; and the other with getting fire to the country home of Frank Lloyd Wright. Mam ah Borthwick will bo taken up. followed by tho others.In the preliminary hearing On Thursday, Harper Harrison of Spring Green testified Carleton had told him on the night the bungalow was burned and its occupants attacked, that he had killed Bourdelle in self-defense. saying Bourdelle had said: 111get you yet.”Mistaken for MimHarrison alao testified that Carle-ton had told him ho had killed Mrs. Borthwick. thinking she was a man who had come to the aid of Bourdelle and that had he known who she was ho would not have attacked her. Harrison said the negro had given no reason lor having killed tho others or for setting fire to the house.During tho proceedings tho nosro sat at fi srr.all table, eating in turn from some bananas and apples which had been plven him and toying with a prlass of water.
