VISALIA (UPI) — Authorities today sought a bandit who shot and killed a Pixley area serv ice station attendant during the weekend. The victim was Raymond Lloyd Sweet, 24, of Porterville, who was shot in the back with a small caliber pistol, possibly a .25 or .32. The shooting oc curred Saturday night. Sweet's body was spotted in the driveway of the station by passing oil truck driver William J. Flynn of Bakersfield. Flynn told sheriff's officers he saw a man running from the station towards a sports car. By the time Flynn could turn his rig around, the man had disappeared. Sweet was breath ing but was unable to talk be fore he died. The holdup slaying netted the bandit $220.
