Iowa lt;AP) - Jeffery Calvert. 22. of Des Moines walked out of Polk County District Court a free man Thursday, murder charges against him having been dismissed on motion of the prosecution The motion for dismissal came after a medical examiner testified as to the time of day on April 14 when Mary Ann Scovel. 18. died of strangulation Both the prosecution and the defense agreed that Calvert had an alibi for the probable time of death Scovel was found dead in her Des Moines apartment next door to the one where Calvert lived.
