(UPI) — Billy Edward Hardesty, a 24-year-old Michigan drifter who already faces prison for six other slayings, has been sentenced to another seven-year term for the murder of his roommate.Superior Court Judge Edward Rafeedie Tuesday sentenced Hardesty on his guilty plea to second-degree murder in the robbery-slaying of Lawrence Leon Gordon, 46.Rafeedie then ordered Hardesty returned to Michigan, where he faces five life prison terms for a bizarre series of murders, including the deaths of his parents.The day after Gordon’s nude body was found hanging by a leather strap from a doorknob in his shared West Hollywood apartment, Willie Dunn, 35, was slashed to death with a machete in his Indio, Calif., apartment.Hardesty later pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the Dunn case and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.Michigan authorities said that abouttwo weeks after Dunn was slain,•Hardesty returned to his rural home outside Ypsilanti, where he killed his father, Ron Hardesty, 43, and threw his body, along with a strangled cat, into a basement freezer.
