Mr. Kollm has heei in the North for 10 years, and ha:traveled extensively through mousy o the Northern mining camps. He ha: spent considerable time in Nome anlt; has painted many scenes of native lift in the north. Many of the picture:which have been worked on mooslt; skin have been sent to various place: in Europe, and the artist’s name ha:become widely known.Though it is not generally knowi here Mr. Kollm is a veteran soldier having been all through the campaigi of the Franco-Prussian war. He wa: in the famous battle of 'Gravelotte Wounds he received in that engage ment came very near ending his lifeMrs. Kollm, who goes out with he: husband, has the name of being om of the greatest mushers of Northern of the greatest mushers of Northen women, and walked over the trail ii company with her husband from Daw son to Skagway during the winter o 1889. The next year Mr. and Mrs Kollm visited their old home in Eu rope and after spending considerabl* time In many of the big cities cam back to the North again. Mr. Kolln is a true Alaskan, and while on thlt; outside he will do everything he pot sibly can to advertise this great corntry.
