Max W. Kollm, the Well-KnownArtist, Will Visit MsOld Home.TELLS HIS EXPERIENCESWent Through the Battle of Gravelotte During Franco-Prussian War.Max Kollm, tbe well-known artist, will leave on the steamer White Beal for the outside. Mr. Kollm has been in the North for 10 years, and hastraveled extensively through many of the Northern mining camps. He has spent considerable time in Nome and has painted many scenes of native life in the north. Many of the pictures which have been worked on moose skin have been sent to various places in Europe, and the artist’s name hasbecome widely known.Though ft is not generally known here Mr. Kollm is a veteran soldier, having been all through the campaign of the Franco-Prussian war. He was in the famous battle of 'Gravelotte. Wounds he received in that engagement came very near ending his life.Mrs. Kolim, who goes out with her husband, has the name of being one of the greatest mushers of Northern of the greatest mushers of Northern women, and walked over the trail in company with her husband from Dawson to Skagway during the winter of 1889. The next year Mr. and Mrs. Kollm visited their old home in Europe and after spending considerable time in many of the big cities came back to the North again. Mr. Kollm is a true Alaskan, and while on the outside he will do everything he possibly can to advertise this great country.
