Notes From War FrontPilot Of Phantom Jet HitsVital North Vietnam TargetCapt. John D. Logeman, husband of the former Audrey Feudner of Fond du Lac, recently took part in a highly successful mission over North Vietnam.Capt. Logeman and fellow F-4C Phantom jet pilots inflicted heavy damage on vital enemy targets.• The captain’s flight attacked a freight train 65 miles north of Haiphong, which was carrying supplies to the south. Using 750-pound bombs, the planes wrecked the train and destroyed railroad bridge in the area.Based In ThailandCapt. Logeman is a member of the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing based at Ubon Royal Thai, Thailand. Known as the Wolf Pack, the 8th is the only triple ace unit in Southeast Asia, credited with the most enemy MIGs shot down over Vietnam.The captain attended the University of Wisconsin and received his commission there in 1961 upon completion of the Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps program.His wife is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Feudner of 152 Bischoff St.News of other service men in ■the war zone was reported recently.At Da NangAirman l.C. Dean E. Gerrit-son, son of Mr. and Mrs. DeJ-mar J. Gerritson of 203 Taylor St., Waupun, is on duty at Da Nang Air Base in Vietnam.Airman Gerritson, a computer repairman, is a member of the Air Force communications service in support of the Pacific Air Forces. Before his arrival in Southeast Asia, he was assigned to the 4392nd Communications Squadron at Vanden-burg, Calif.Army Pfc. Robert C. Wondra, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin C. Wondra, Route 1, Lomira, has arrived in Qui Nhon, Vietnam, with the 1st Calvary Regiment’s 2nd Squadron, now assigned to the 4th Infantry Division.The squadron, which sailed from Oakland, Calif., Army Terminal, was previously part of the 2nd Armored Division at Ft. Hood, Tex.While in Vietnam, the squadron will participate in “Operation Francis Marion,” a search and destroy operation in the Viet Cong-infested Central Highlands. Pvt. Wondra is a rifleman in the squadron’s Troop C near Pleiku.Army Pfc. David J. Kissinger, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alois J. Kissinger, West Bend, was assigned to the 25th Infantry Division near Cu Chi, Vietnam, Sept. 5.Pvt. Kissinger, an infantryman in Company B, 4th Battalion of the division’s 23rd Infantry, entered the Army in (Con. on Page 21, Col. 8)
