grounds.A large crowd assembled at the depot last Wednesday morning to bid farewell to the, three of our own boys who left with the other twenty-eight from Stark county, for Fort Dodge, Des Moines, Iowa, where they will take the military training which fits them for service in the national army. Sherman Ingels, Fred Snyder and Clarke Vansickle were those who had requested that they might be sent first and it was with mingled feeling of pride and regret, 'that their friends crowded around them to bid them goodbye and wish them success in their new work, and a safe return home. They went bravely, with smiling faces and cheery goodbyes, amid cheers’ and shouts of encouragement from their friends. It was a fine looking lot of young men who filled the ear, and Stark county has reason to be proud of her contribution to her country. Sherman Ingels has been assigned to Company A, 313th Regiment, Engineers. Gaar Ingels goes October 3 with the next increment; also Everett White.
