SMALL AMOUNT OF CASH TAKEN, 2 CARS STOLENBurglar* Remove Phone Boxes A* Safes Yield Nothing; Seek Joyriders As Cars GoneThree automobile* stolen from garage* here and at Two Riven last night have been recovered, the car of Attorney John Mayer being found at Two Riven,-the Wiitiatns car was found at Seventh and Pine street* and a car stolen from Henry Carstens, Two Rivers, was found on Marshall street here.Crime ran rampant in Manitowoc early this morning and four oil - company stations were looted of small amounts of cash and two owners of automobiles reported their cars stolen. The total cash taken will not be considerable as it consisted entirely of the proceeds removed from four pay-station telephones as moneys kept in the safes of the four places visited had been removed except in ope station and there only a small amount of • change was takenThe places visited were the Dill Oil company station at 25th and Washington streets, the Tewell and Schisel station across the street from the Dill station, the Standard Oil company station at Eighth and Huron streets and the Kaufman station at 26th and Marshall streets Discovery ofthe burglaries was made by police between 3:15 and 4:45 o'clock this morning after-, a checkup of station* had been made at 2:45 a. m.Automobiles were stolen fromiohn Mayer. 702 Huron street, and oseph Williams. 704 Hamiltoncovery of the looting of the Standard Oil company station was made by Officer Joseph Smrz at 4:450CinCall cases, the burglars forced their way into the stations by jimmying windows.
