Goodbye!Thus, with a tearful farewell from mothers and sweethearts and the strong, full of feeling handclasp of friends, the boys of Battery E and the Brigade Headquarters company, who have endeared themselves in the hearts i of every Cedar Rapids person, left on a ' special train for Deming, N. M* at 3 p. m. today.Thousands of people gathered In Greene Spara when the soldiers were brought to attention preparatory to the march through the downtown streetsand thronged the Union station plat*Form while they were boarding the train and waiting the final signal from the conductor which would take them nway from the ties they held most dear. Although tear-stained faces were much in evidence smiles were forced to keep up the spirits of the departing men. All of the men except those on guard at the coaches were allowed to go to their hemes for their noon meal.
