Stotblemire, the Democratic candidate for County Commissioner. lie was born in the year 1S41 on the l’ann now owned by Robert WilHams in Jackson township and has ah his life been a citizen ol Guernsey county.He received a common school education and at the age of IS was apprenticed with James Adair, late Captain of Co. G, 62 rceimcnt O. V'. V. I., to learn the trade of carpenter.After serving three years the Civil war came on and at the age of 21 he enlisted in Co. B, 97 regiment O. V. I., and served the full term of 3 years. He bore his part in all the battles in which his regiment partic-iapted and was honorably discharged June 10. 1865, at Nashville, Tenn. lie Is now a member of Cambridge Post, G. A. G. Ills soldier record is without a stain.Since the close of the war he has been engaged in business in Cambridge, for some years as a grocer, but mostly as a contractor and builder. lie is recognized as an honest workman, a man of integrity in the highest sense, his word is his bond, prompt and ellicienl in every duty and engagement.He served six years as a trustee of Cambridge township and this important public service marks him as a very capable and painstaking ofllcial. Economy was his'watchword and his judgment was never at fault in the judicious application of public funds. Ills election by handsome majorities, largely by his Republican neighbors, shows the confidence reposed in him.He is 01 years old and actively engaged in business every day.
