Two Die In Trainer Crash Near MatadorCHILDRESS, Sept. 23, (ff) — Two officers were killed when a basic training plane of the Childress Army Air field crashed and burned late today near Matador, the public relations office announced.The dead were Capt. John E. Sayer, pilot, of Richmondville, N. Y., and Mnj. Gustavus W. Thomasson, jr., a flight surgeon, former Dallas physician.The plane was on a routineflight from the maneuver field operated by the bombardierschool.
