Honor Guard HereiIs Superior DrillUnit Of The CorpsWestern's honor guard, a crack drill unit, which meets distinguished \ visitors on the campus and whichgives splindid exhibitions in drill dur-*ing the year and at commencement, is an organization to be proud of.Information about the honor guard is printed below.Name:Western Honor Guard.Purpose:To give special recognition to those cadets, who in their daily experience in the cadet corps, exhibit outstanding qualities of loyalty, cooperation and citizenship.Responsibilities:1. To become. proficient as a Drill Team with the objective of giving exhibitions on special occasions.f2. To receive and escort persons in important civilian positions or of high military rank.Organization:1. No more than a total of 35 ca-, dets, including:1 Commander 1 Assistant Commander 1 Guide4 Squads of 8 each2. PMST is responsible 'for theappointment of key personnel.Membership.1. All cadets who have attended W.M.A. for a semester and are members of the Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior Classes, are eligible for membership., 2. All members will be selected bythe PMST with the assistance of the*Headmaster or the Commandant.3. Candidates must be outstanding in military bearing, appearance, and proficiency in military work—especially Close Order Drill.«4. No cadet may be a member• *who:a. fails to make his P. A. (potential academic average) for two consecutve grade periods.b. Has a deportment grade of less tha 90 for two consecutivegrade periods.• ' 1 c. Fails to maintain a military•Igrade of 80 for two consecutivegrade periods.»5. No cadet may continue to be a member of the Honor Guard who at any time does not meet any of the standards set forth in 4 a, 4 b or 4c above.6.
