Ensign Farris BassettEnsign Bassett, 22 years old. was commissioned in the U. S. Naval Reserve at the Naval Air Training Center, Corpus Christi, .Texas, August 28. He is the son or Mr. and Mrs. Michael Bassett of Bliss-field. He enlisted on July 3. 1942, and entered active duty at Toledo University September 5 when he began civilian pilot training. On November. 11. be was sent to the navy preflight school at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, and later to Glenview, HI., for the primary phase of training. He is now stationed at San Pedro, Calif. Ensign Bassett formerly was employed by the Oil Service Company and by the Magnesium Fabricators Incorporated.
