It was a nice ship we tra-1 veled on, and was in harbor at Japan when peace was sinned Thirty minutes later. I was walking down the streets of Tokyo. It is a pretty place, what is left of it !‘Our outfit is now staying in.a j Jap army camp and the wooden barracks sure do feel good, tor n was winter here, and I almost froze to death when we first landed but we are getting used to it now. |Guess you will receive word that I am entitled to wear the Purple Heart, which I am proud to wear, and the four battle stars, foi the freedom of my country.I noticed in The Independent [there were lots of boys returning to the good old Towel City. I haven't seen the city since the day I I left in 1942. but tell all my friends not to be surprised to set* me any{time now. jMy outfit has seen some hard; tunes for the past 27 montlis. jbut we are now enjoying ourselvesreading our mail and waiting to hcai the word, let s go home*.
