Andrews of Hid Caroline street. Andrews was reported in last weeks casualty list as being among the missing and it is only through the visit of Lieut. Curtis Muhmey of this city that th»- truth- was learned.Andrews and another man in the company were lost in a tight at Chauteau Thierry, It was dark, but after a careful recoilnai-anee the men made what thev took to he a friendly camp and discovered it to be what was the old M Company of Vermont infantry. One of the first men to greet Andrews was Lieut. Mala-ney, at one time a near neighbor. It was then that Andrews learned that his brother was a cook in the company and the brothers met after having tried for months to mm* each other. Andrews wa-reported missing when the company formed that night, in all likelihood, and in that way tin* casualty was rejmrted to the United States. * *I he region almut Chateau Thierry is still densely wooded and with the great shell hole- and all other confusing ob-stardes. it is nothing strange for a man to lose his company. Sometimes, even in stooping long enough to care for a sore foot, a man will Ik* left behind so that it will he days before he finds his old outfit. Jii the confuaion of the light Andrews with the other man wandered away and it i a pretty dangerous thing to go hunting for any laxly after dark. This couple reached M Company just after supper •» Andrews probably had some of his brother's cooking.The fact that Andrews was not lost was discovered hy Xapoleon Auhin. a harher in The Palace, and a brother-inlaw. He heard some one say that Lieut. Malancy saw a former neighlxir of his when he stumbled into his camp ami then investigated. finding that at the time Andrews was visiting M Company he was being re|M»ried in tile United States a- missing.
