WAY BACK WHENAT last the Manitou, the high school publication, will be preserved for posterity. For a long time far-sighted people have suggested that the magazine be bound in leather, but did nothing about it. It remained for Miss Bart,' journalism teacher at the high school and a few students to put! the theory into practice. • * jManitous as far back as the October issue of 1910 have now j been' compiled systematically in sturdy leather covers. That year the high school was defeated 10 to 0 by Kaukauna but beat Sheboygan Falls 21 to 0. Adolph Frazier, the sport editor, said as regards that game, “Although the grounds are 20 yards too short and 10 yards too narrow it was not a disadvantage—as our boys did not have so far to go in making touchdowns.“ One can easily see that sports and sport writing were quite different at that time than'they are at 1 present.Years from now today’s students may return to visit the j high school. They may be old and gray, successful men and i women. Perhaps they, too. will get a little smile or heart I throb as they look through the magazines that are being com-! piled today. —C. R
