Davidson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Davidson of McKinney, has been selected out of the 70 most outstanding freshman men at the University of Okla homa. at Norman, by the Naval ^Reserve Officers Training Corps, as NROTC contract student.All applicants are given a physical and mental examination and the top men arc chosen for the corps. The new cadets will serve four years ROTC training and will be commissioned ensigns in the Naval Reserve upon graduation and serve two years when called Vo active duty. They will take one summer cruise between their jun # jor and senior years.Davidson, who graduated from Boyd High School this Spring, was an outstanding student in his class, work as well as athletics, being a member of the Lions football and basketball teams.Varsity is derived from the word university.
